5 out of 5 stars Got Server...Will Store Everything You Have and More!   June 28, 2010
Russell A. Starner
This is my first official server. My computer seems to crash on a regular basis before this was added to the network. Since then, all the computers in the network back up regularlly (provided they are turned on). The one thing that I have learned from over the years is to always run from back up.

In the past I have used Network Attached Storage (NAS) and external hard drives. But with each costing several hundred dollars plus causing extra wires under the desk,(a fire hazard) I needed something that would back me up daily and store all my stuff.... This unit does all that and more.

This unit was aquired Used (Like New) with 3 hard drives and 512Meg of Ram. Since then I added (3) 1.5 TB drives and updated the operating system and memory of the unit to 2GB. I'm planning to expand the unit again with an esata enclosure and I've already have 2 External Hard drives added. The price paid was very reasonalble. I would definately buy a different model from server from the manufacturer).

I will say that this server has pulled me out of a jam at least one where I had to restore my computer.

In clsing it would be a wise investment if you value your important data to have it on a secure server where you can access it from home or away. Tip... Don't forget the password or you will be locked out!
