The 620n solved a reliability problem!!
We've had multiple 610N servers fail in our Laserjet 5000N. We upgraded to the 620N and it is hanging in there!

Threw this one in a new P3005 printer and works like a charm! Nice option when HP has back ordered models that typically come with JetDirect built-in, and you do not wish to wait.

No, it's not aspirin... it's the HP JetDirect Print Server we bought from Amazon.com!
While looking for a duplex (that is, double-sided paper) network printer, we discovered that the ideal HP model, the LaserJet 3005dn, was not available. The 3005d? Sure. The 3005n? No problem. But not the 3005dn. Why? Don't ask me.
The thing is, HP's networked laser printers are basically just their stand-alone models with a JetDirect unit pre-installed. Hence our solution: Buy the 3005d and add the JetDirect for instant networking. And I do mean instant. Installation could not be simpler. You unscrew one small backplate, slide the JetDirect in, power the printer on and you're good to go.
(One small caution: There are different models and variants of JetDirect so make sure you're getting the right one for your HP printer.)
Great replacement product March 18, 2010

I was looking for a replacement Jet Direct solution for a couple of older printers where the cards that came with them had died. These are working well in a LaserJet 4000 and an older LaserJet 2100. The price for these was much less than other sites I had found on the internet.
